Brahmaputra Boys open in style

Guwahati, Dec. 5: Brahmaputra Boys Club thrashed Rhino Boys Club by 132 runs in the inaugural match of the 22nd Ankurjyoti Challenge Limited Overs Cricket Tournament for the Ratanlal Sinhania and Mohini Devi Singhania Trophy at Judges Field here today.

Put in to bat, Brahmaputra Boys piled up 272 runs for the loss of two wickets in 35 overs. Subham Jha topscored with an unbeaten knock of 115 runs.

In reply, Rhino Boys Club could only manage 140 runs before being bundled out in the last delivery of the match. Ravi Pandey scored 30 runs off 39 balls. Harshal Jain picked up three for 14 runs.

Chandmari Sports Club will play Pepsi Cricket Club tomorrow.

On the other hand, Ulubari Higher Secondary School edged past Ankurjoti Cricket Coaching Centre by one run in the inaugural match of the Ankurjyoti Challenge Trophy under-16 inter-institution cricket tournament at the Latasil Ground here today.
