Calcutta: Out for almost six months with a knee injury, Manoj Tiwary is confident of returning before the start of this season’s Vijay Hazare Trophy.
But whether he will turn out for Bengal remains to be seen as Tiwary is quite upset with the CAB.
“Look, I have enjoyed every moment playing for Bengal. But I had certain expectations from the CAB… I was a little hurt with its ways.
“During my recovery period at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), hardly anyone from the CAB bothered to call me and find out how I’m doing…
“I’ve served the Bengal team since the 2004-05 season and contributed with significant performances... Can’t I expect a little bit of involvement?” Tiwary, who returned from the NCA on Wednesday, asked. “Also, despite having performed in the last international series I was part of (one-dayers in Sri Lanka), I still don’t find myself in the central contracts list. Can’t I expect the CAB to push for the inclusion of my name (in the list)? I only had the CAB to look forward to...”
