Chandmari humble Santipur by 35 runs

Guwahati, Dec. 4: Chandmari Cricket Coaching Centre B registered a thumping 35-run victory over Santipur Cricket Academy in their match of the first City Challenge inter-coaching under-13 cricket tournament at the Janata Bhawan Parade Ground here today.

Electing to bat, Chandmari Cricket Coaching Centre batsmen put up a competitive total of 123 runs for the loss of two wickets in their stipulated 15 overs.

Praytush Chakraborty topscored with an unbeaten knock of 42 runs off 39 balls while Akash Sarma contributed 40 runs off 39 deliveries.

Both the batsmen stamped their authority, hitting boundaries and stealing singles at will.

In reply, Santipur Cricket Academy could only manage a meagre 88 runs for the loss of four wickets in their regular overs. They failed to capitalise despite having wickets in hand during the run chase.

Vishnu Sharma scored an unbeaten 27 runs off 31 deliveries while Srayan Roy was the other notable contributor with 18 runs off 32 balls.

Baidurey Phukan of Chandmari scalped two wickets conceding 13 runs.

City Cricket Coaching Centre Blue will face Nalbari Cricket Academy in the first quarter-final tomorrow.
