Calcutta: The North Calcutta Rifle Club (NCRC) is all set to showcause international shooter Mampi Das, who was involved in a scuffle with fellow shooter Kaushalya Mondal, at the club premises, on Monday.
“She will be issued a show-cause notice. We will not tolerate any sort of indiscipline,” a club source said on Tuesday.
Mampi said she might withdraw her police complaint. “I am weighing my options. Let’s see what happens on Wednesday. After that, I will take a call,” she said. The West Bengal Rifle Association (WBRA), however, is keeping mum on the entire issue. “We haven’t got any official complaint from any of the aggrieved parties. How can we interfere? We have to maintain a protocol.
“Unless and until the NCRC officially informs us of what had happened on Monday, we cannot take any decision,” WBRA secretary Debkumar Samanta said.
According to NCRC secretary Debranjan Mukherjee, the club could well send a copy of the show-cause notice to the state body. “What’s the point in informing them? We could send a copy of the notice served to Mampi to the WBRA,” he said.
