Guwahati, Dec. 2: Hyderabad A clinched a 10-wicket victory against hosts Assam A today for three additional bonus points in their C.K. Nayudu Trophy under-25 plate group B cricket tournament at S.M. Dev Stadium, Silchar.
Conceding a first innings lead of 214 runs to the visitors, Assam resumed their second innings at 21 for one and were bundled out for 228 in 85.3 overs. Needing 15 runs for the outright victory, Hyderabad A achieved it without losing a wicket in three overs.
The home side had elected to bat on Friday and were all out for 209 in 88.4 overs in the first innings. The visitors batted for almost two days to pile up 423, losing six wickets in 159 overs before declaring their first innings.
In their second innings, skipper Amit Sinha missed a ton by six runs when he snicked one from S. Palakodeti to be caught behind by glovesman K. Sumanth at 94 (11x4, 2x6).
Rishav Das (32, 3x4), Rajdeep Das (23, 3x4) and Diptesh Saha (20, 2x4) were the other main scorers for Assam.
M. Vamshi of Hyderabad scalped three wickets for 50 runs while S. Kakaria, Kamran Khan and S. Palakodeti shared two apiece, conceding 31, 32 and 43 runs respectively.
R. Rayudu and N. Mudiraj of Hyderabad remained unbeaten on 11 and three respectively.
With the victory, Hyderabad A qualifies for the knockouts with 19 points, along with Madhya Pradesh A who have 22 points. Assam finished third with 13 points.
