Cycling meet opens tomorrow

Imphal, Dec. 2: Manipur Khuman Lampak Cycle Velodrome wears a new look. It is being readied for the 66th Senior, 43rd Junior, 29th Sub-Junior National Track Cycling Championship which starts from Wednesday.

Cyclists from across the country have started arriving for the event. Manipur Cycling Association general secretary H. Bikramjit Singh said they are expecting around 230 cyclists from 21 states for the event. The track cycling event will have senior and elite women, junior boys and girls, sub junior boys and girls and youth boys and girls categories.

Volleyball: ARC Shillong defeated Manipur Police Sports Club to claim the championís title of the first state-level Junior Boys Open Volleyball Tournament organised by Mayang Imphal Youth Development Organisation at Mayang Imphal.

Fitness: The Apunba Fitness Centre, Imphal will be holding its mega-final of the third Transformation Challenge 2013 at MFDC Auditorium, Palace Compound tomorrow.

Chess: Padma Gogoi claimed the title in the 13th edition of the PC Borooah First Sunday Chess Tournament held on Sunday at the P C Borooah Chess Academy here. Gogoi tallied 5.5 points from six rounds and remain unbeaten to claim the title.
