Bangla to play opening tie

Calcutta: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced the two groups for the first round of the World T20, to be held in Bangladesh next year.

Fixtures for the first round were also announced and Bangladesh will play the opener against Afghanistan on March 16 in Mirpur. The opening day’s second match will feature Nepal and Hong Kong and will be played in Chittagong.

While Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal and Hong Kong have been placed in Group A of the first round, Group B has Zimbabwe, Ireland, UAE and the Netherlands.
