New Delhi: Wriddhiman Saha is not disappointed by the fact that there would not be too many opportunities for him to showcase his skills during the two-match Test series against South Africa.
“When a player of (Mahendra Singh) Dhoni’s stature is there, it is always difficult to break into the playing XI,” said the Bengal wicket-keeper-batsman, here, on Wednesday.
“I am happy for being selected regularly whenever there is a requirement for a reserve wicket-keeper during overseas tours. In South Africa, my main aim would be to make best use of chances that could come my way,” said Wriddhiman, who so far has played two Tests in his career.
Wriddhiman said his chances of playing would be limited because there is only one tour match before the Test series. “Frankly, I even enjoy training at the nets with the national side. In Australia, I found some of the net bowlers good enough to play for some of the Ranji Trophy sides here.”
