Calcutta: United Sports Club held on to their lead against Dempo SC to secure a 2–1 victory in an Airtel I-League match at the Duler Stadium, in Mapusa, on Saturday.
Liberian Eric Brown scored a brace for the Calcutta outfit in the 50th minute and the 56th minute respectively, but India international Clifford Miranda pulled one back for the hosts in the 60th minute.
After that, the match looked very tight, and Dempo tried their best to bridge the gap in the scoreline, but in the end, it was all about United SC.
Meanwhile, at the Salt Lake Stadium, Mohammedan Sporting played a goalless tie with Churchill Brothers.
In Bangalore, also there was a stalemate. Bangalore FC and Sporting Clube de Goa played out a goalless draw.

Syed Rahim Nabi, who was slated to play, was not even included in the 18-man squad.
When queried, coach Abdul Aziz Moshood reasoned that the midfielder was yet to attain 100 per cent fitness.
Nabi, however, argued he was fully fit and ready to take the field.
