New Delhi: The tag of ‘home’ team notwithstanding, Sahara Force India drivers Paul Di Resta and Adrian Sutil are not too hopeful of encouraging finishes in the Indian Grand Prix on Sunday.
“We are not magicians
we always try our best but with the kind of car we have, you can’t expect us to win against Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes,” Di Resta said, when asked if Force India were looking for a podium finish in front of home fans.
Force India put up a fine show in the first half of the championships, when they reached the fifth spot in the constructions’ championship.
But the change of tyre after the Silverstone blowouts hit them the most and they have managed to score just three points in seven races.
“I am now a better driver than what I was at the beginning, but I cannot show it because the car has slowed down,” he said.
Di Resta chose to focus on the positives and said the team tried too many things after Silverstone.
