New Delhi, Oct. 20 (PTI): The Tatas’ proposed aviation venture with Singapore Airlines (SIA) has got the approval of the corporate affairs ministry to use the name “Tata SIA Airlines Limited”. The duo plan to offer full-service passenger services on domestic and international routes.
The Tatas had applied late last month on the ministry’s electronic platform, MCA21, to register this name.
According to the latest information with the ministry, the name has been approved and the company, Tata SIA Airlines Limited, stands registered from Delhi.
The registration is generally followed by the submission of various other documents, including the Article of Association, and details of the company’s board of directors, share capital and business areas.
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board will on Thursday consider a proposal of Tata-SIA to bring in FDI worth $49 million.
The Tatas will hold 51 per cent and SIA 49 per cent in the venture.
