Guwahati, Oct. 18: Tanishq, India’s largest jewellery brand, has chalked up an expansion plan to ensure a strong presence in the Northeast.
“We are looking to open five to six stores in different areas of the Northeast in a year’s time. We have also appointed a full-time area manager in the region to fully understand the market. This will help us get a firm grip,” the associate vice-president and regional business head, Titan Company Ltd, V. Ganesh, said here today at a news conference on the occasion of its second showroom launch.
Founded in 1994, Tanishq is a part of the Tata group and the largest retail jewellery brand in the country.
It has 159 showrooms providing jewellery lovers with a world-class experience and easy access to high quality traditional and contemporary jewellery.
It offers gold and gem-set jewellery (in 22 and 18 karat gold) in over 5,000 traditional, western and fusion looks.
The last showroom here was opened in 2006.
The associate vice-president said Tanishq has been a pioneer in setting new benchmarks in the jewellery industry. “In the years to come, we plan to extend our reach to newer markets. This new showroom embodies Tanishq’s commitment towards providing customers a memorable shopping experience with its carefully created jewellery displays, ambience and customer service,” he added.
The new showroom will also provide exclusive facilities such as the Karatmeter — a device to measure the purity of gold — a concept pioneered by Tanishq.
It also has facilities like exchange of Non-Tanishq Gold and a cashback policy on Tanishq jewellery.
