Calcutta: Eden Gardens curator Prabir Mukherjee is praying it doesn’t rain anymore. For, rains since September has hampered the preparation of the pitch where Sachin Tendulkar will take guard on the penultimate Test match of his career early next month.
“I just hope it doesn’t rain anymore. It has hampered our preparations. We want to make an ideal batting strip. But what will we do if the rain refuses to relent,” the curator said at the Eden on Wednesday evening.
Mukherjee was the curator in all the 12 matches Sachin has played at the Eden and the former said The Master will enjoy batting on this track. “He will enjoy batting on this tracků that’s for sure.
“And being the curator since Sachin played his first Test at the Eden way back in 1993, this is an emotional moment for me. It’s an honour,” he said.
