Calcutta: Mohammedan Sporting’s start to the I-League has been an inauspicious one as they slumped to a 1-3 defeat to Pune FC in their sole appearance so far in this edition.
However, on the eve of their clash against Salgaocar, in Mapusa, there seems to be an element of optimisim in the Mohammedan Sporting camp over Penn Orji, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury.
It’s not that Penn is all set to feature in the starting XI, but coach Abdul Aziz Moshood maintained a positive stance about the Nigerian’s availability. “Penn has recovered fast and is in a better shape now.
“We’re quite positive about his chances of playing tomorrow,” Moshood said.
If the influential playmaker does make it into the side, Salgaocar will certainly have a big task on hand as they have to deal with marksmen Tolgay Ozebe and Joshimar as well.
