New Delhi: The deadlock in the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) seems to have weakened Abhay Chautala’s stranglehold in both the organisations.
The IOA and IBF are currently suspended by their respective world bodies. and there are little efforts being made to come out of the crisis. While Chautala is the president of the suspended IOA, he is also running the IBF through a coterie of people close to him.
As a first sign of revolt against the Haryana politician, several state boxing associations have decided to hold a meeting in New Delhi on October 6 to discuss about future course of action.
According to sources, at least 24 state units could be expected to attend the meeting despite repeated warnings by the Chautala-led body.
