Medical reports of an 11-year-old domestic help who fled her employer’s apartment at the South City residential complex on Tuesday confirm sexual harassment, police said on Wednesday.
The 65-year-old employer has been missing since the girl managed to sneak out and was rescued by other domestic helps, who took her to the apartment’s welfare society.
“Preliminary medical reports suggest that the girl has been sexually harassed. Rape can only be confirmed after we get the forensic reports,” said an officer of Jadavpur police station.
The girl has accused her employer of raping her for the past six months. The accused has been charged with rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (PCSO) Act.
The police found three other women in the apartment during a raid on Tuesday night. All three were arrested after the victim alleged that she had been tortured in their presence.
Sources said the accused had introduced himself as a filmmaker to some, while others knew him as a chartered accountant.
The penthouse that he owns in the right wing of the 34th floor of Oak Tower comprises two flats. “Both the flats are registered in his name but for one he has declared himself as Indian and for the other he is registered as a US citizen with a New Jersey address,” an officer said.
A search for a house in Garia, where his family is believed to live, has not yielded any result. The man’s wife and daughter have shifted out of Bengal, said police.
The police are looking for the victim’s mother who, the girl alleged, was aware of her plight.
Two of the arrested women said they were domestic helps while the third said she had been adopted by the owner of the flat. The first two are from Murshidabad and Birbhum and the third from East Midnapore.
