Darjeeling, Oct. 1: Prominent hill businessman B.M. Garg was granted interim bail by the court of the chief judicial magistrate in Darjeeling today.
Pankaj Prasad, the assistant public prosecutor, said: “B.M. Garg has been granted interim bail till October 30 on health grounds. The court has directed Garg to report to the investigating officer once in a fortnight.”
Garg was arrested on September 11.
Police had slapped an arson case related to burning down of a Takdah forest bungalow on August 2.
But police sources had said during the time of arrest that he was perceived to be a “financier” of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha.
