New Delhi, Sept. 30: A probe by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) into the Saradha scam and operations of 62 other entities has found financial mismanagement and diversion of funds by their promoters.
The agency is looking for data stored in computer servers abroad, the corporate affairs ministry said today while releasing excerpts of an interim report on the SFIO probe.
The final report would be submitted by December.
Besides Saradha, other Bengal-based groups being probed are Rose Valley, I-Core and Sunshine, sources said.
The sources said the report found that more than 1.5 million people had invested in Saradha, three-fourths of whom could be classified as small investors with deposits of Rs 10,000 or less.
The companies tried to take advantage of overlapping jurisdiction and there was evidence of diversion of funds by them, the report said.
