Mohali: Brisbane Heat threw their Champions League T20 campaign in complete disarray after suffering a narrow four-run defeat against Nashua Titans, on Tuesday.
Chasing a modest 124 to win, the Australian side lost wickets at regular dismissals. Henry Davids, captain of Titans, was all praise for the bowlers.
The following are excerpts
Henry Davids: It was a very exciting game. It was a bit close out there. I believe we were 40 runs short with the bat. But the bowlers performed really well.
We need to improve our batting. The way we lost momentum during our innings is certainly an area of concern.
I must credit our bowlers. They hit the right areas and did the job for us.
James Hopes: Batting is our strength. But, today, the batsmen failed to get going. I believe the conditions today were more conducive to fast bowling. It was a low-scoring game by T20 standards, but it was a close one and an exciting one. Unfortunately, we couldn’t pull off a win.
We bowled really well today. They were scoring at a fast rate but Nathan Hauritz bowled really well.
Marchant de Lange (MoM): I enjoyed bowling on this track. It was a nice wicketů Very much like the ones we have back home. It was a low-scoring match.
So there was a bit of nerves out there. But we held our nerves and won the key moments in the match.
