Dumka, Sept. 24: The district administration has lodged FIRs against officials of a company for building three substandard community health centres.
Ironically, chief minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the centres at Dumka’s Masaliya, Shikaripara and Jama blocks during his visit to Dumka on September 20.
National Building Construction Company was awarded the contracts of all the three centres at a cost of Rs 3.18 crore each.
While Hemant unveiled the Shikaripara and Jama centres online, he opted to visit the Masaliya centre for dedicating it to the people of his constituency.
However, the chief minister cancelled the inauguration after he spotted cracks on the centre’s walls at Masaliya.
A furious Hemant directed the district administration to probe quality of work in the health centres and take action against the company.
DC Harsh Mangla formed separate teams, comprising engineers and administrative officials, for each centre.
The teams found that inferior materials were used in all the three buildings. They also complained of large-scale irregularities in these projects.
On the basis of their reports, civil surgeon Suresh Kumar filed three FIRs in respective police stations last evening.
