King Mahi, sporting a bold Mohawk, offers cake to Chennai Super Kings teammate Suresh Raina during an event hosted by Ranchi District Cricket Association at JSCA stadium on Monday. Itís likely that pretty ladies (left) Sapna Bhavnani, celebrity hair stylist, and wifey Sakshi were more excited by Dhoniís new look at JSCA greens on Sunday evening than the match, where MSD unveiled the Mohawk. Sapna was flown down from Mumbai on the eve of the CLT20 match to give Mahi fans a hair-raising experience. Soccer icons David Beckham, Mario Balotelli and El Shaarawy are sporting the bald buzz-meets-Mohawk look. But it took Mahi to make it apun ka ishtyle.

Never again, hopes JSCA
When floodlights tripped during two Champions League T20 matches in Ranchi on Sunday, we were hurt and angry because we wanted Dhoni to feel proud of the international stadium in his city. But JSCA is making amends, says A.S.R.P. Mukesh
BLACKOUT BOUNCERS Two of the six high-mast light towers blacked out for around 10 minutes in the second half of both the matches (T&T and Brisbane Heat and CSK and Titans). The second snag occurred at 9.50pm when Dhoni's CSK were chasing the 186-run target of the Titans. CSK were into their first over, when poof! Good that Team Dhoni team won
CRINGE CAUSES There are six towers, each having some 70-80 floodlights. Each tower has independent DG (diesel generator) sets connected with computerised electric consoles programmed with a master console in such a way that power supply can be adjusted and controlled. Each light has a capacitor, which tripped due to overheating.
So, what went wrong? The capacitors were damaged because either power supply from DG sets was in uneven bursts or the lights were on for too long
JSCA, one of the stateís
best-run outfits, got into a
huddle on Monday morning
to prevent a re-run of the
embarrassment in the
next three matches, one on September 26 and two on September 28. A team of engineers will review all the capacitors, DG sets, consoles and circuits
JSCA SPEAK If technicians have the slightest of doubts, we have asked them to immediately replace the equipment. We are checking and rechecking to prevent any malfunction in future
No one wants a snag. And snags happen once in a blue moon, irrespective of the place. Our team promptly fixed problems, enabling matches to go on without hassles. Allís well that ends well. Lights came back and Mahi won at home Rajesh Verma
Both the times, I didnít realise when the light towers turned blank. I realised something was wrong only when the matches stopped. Everyone started cursing... But Dhoniís win ensured we had an entertaining night
