Passengers headed to Mumbai or Visakhapatnam this festive season have reason to cheer.
South Eastern Railway (SER) will introduce two special trains to the twin destinations to beat Puja rush. According to officials at SER headquarters in Garden Reach, Calcutta, Tata-Visakhapatnam and Santragachi-Mumbai would ply once a week. The Mumbai train will pass via Tatanagar station.
This is the first time that a special train to Visakhapatnam is being introduced for convenience of passengers during the festive days. To run on Mondays from September 30 till November 25, it will leave Tatanagar at 1pm and reach Visakhapatnam the next day at 4.40pm.
The Santragachi-Mumbai weekly will run from the first week of October. Railway officials said that the schedule would be announced soon.
