Ranchi: The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) suffered a major embarrassment after the lights at the Birsa Munda Stadium in two different towers went off during Sunday’s CLT20 double-header.
The incident happened once during each of the two matches and play was disrupted for close to 20 minutes on both occasions.
“One of the capacitors in the light towers went off leading to smoke… So the lights had to be switched off in the tower… Once it’s set right, it takes at least 10 minutes to return to normalcy… On both the occasions it was the same electrical fault,” JSCA secretary Rajesh Verma said. We have called a meeting of our engineers tomorrow. We will do everything to ensure it’s not repeated,” Verma assured.
