Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, set to play their Champions League T20 match at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, here, on Saturday, did not receive any official security cover on Friday because of some problems between Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and the local police.
According to RCA sources, the matter was finally resolved late in the night after intervention from senior politicians in the state, some of whom are directly involved in cricket administration.
“There were some disagreement over payment between RCA and Rajasthan police,” a cricket official claimed.
“For the whole day, private security agencies had to be engaged for the teams’ security. No police car was provided to the teams when they came to Sawai Mansingh Stadium for practice,” he added.
Things, however, would be normal on Saturday as RCA and local police have reached an agreement, the official said.
