Ranchi, Sept. 19: Chief minister Hemant Soren today took strong administrative measures against erring engineers, who are accused of acts of omission and commission.
Hemant directed the officials concerned to deny annual increment and promotion to suspended executive engineer Bhola Ram for the next three years. He was charged with dereliction in duty while supervising work on a bridge over Brakar river in Dhanbad district.
He also sanctioned administrative action against assistant engineers Surendra Prasad, Ganpat Rao and executive engineer Prakash Chandra Singh — all from the rural works department — in different cases. They had allegedly forged in-voices for purchasing bitumen.
In another case, retired assistant engineer Surya Nath Singh too felt the heat as the chief minister extended prosecution sanction against him under different sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The state vigilance bureau has been asked to probe a disproportionate assets case involving suspended junior engineer Ram Vinod Sinha of Khunti district.
