Interested candidates can register on the Assam police website or call 9401676971.
Director-general of police Jayanta Narayan Choudhury told reporters today, “We are always endeavouring to strengthen the police-public relationship. This time, we have decided to hold a quiz and a debate on topics that are of importance to enhance the public-police co-operation. Anyone who in in Class XI and onwards can participate as a team of two. The competition is open to professionals as well as senior citizens.”
While the quiz will be held at the Pragjyoti ITA Complex, the debate will be held at the District Library.
For the quiz, 12 final teams will be selected through a written test. The debate topic is: In democracy the police are in conflict with people’s aspirations.
“We have selected the topic for the debate in such a manner that the view points of the public find expression in the orators. We will then use these viewpoints to bring about reforms in the police service. We hope to receive participants from other states too,” Choudhury said.
