Imphal, Sept. 11: Imphal East District FA claimed the championís title of the AMFA 25th junior boys inter-district football tournament defeating their Imphal West counterparts by 4-2 goals in the tie-breaker played on the artificial turf at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
The match ended scoreless after regulation time. Md Akbar Khan, Ak. Angamba, S.R. Kagaly and Azaruddin scored for Imphal East while N. Tondonba and C. Jacob found the net for Imphal West. N. Roshan shot wide while G. Arnoldís shot was saved by the Imphal East keeper.
Judging by the performances in the tournament, the All Manipur Football Association had picked up 25 probables for the 49th Junior National Football Championship for the B.C. Roy Trophy (Tier-I) to be held in Ranchi.
Goalkeepers: Sumthianthang, Md Habib, M. Romario and Y. Dushanta; Defenders: N. Tondonba, C. Maringmei, Y. Arnold, L. Jacob, Th. Premjit, Zamthianmang, Ch. The All Manipur Taekwondo Association will host the 32nd National Senior Taekwondo Championship from September 20-22 in Imphal.
The championship will attract players from 26 states, seven Union territories and six Central Services teams.
Moirang win: All Moirang Hockey Association drubbed Posterior Hockey Association by 10-1 goals in the state level under-19 junior menís hockey tournament played at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium. In another match, Lizard Club humbled CDO Charangpat by 15-6 goals.
