Imphal, Sept. 8: Imphal West District Football Association stormed into the semi-finals of the 25th Junior Boys Inter-District Football Tournament at the artificial turf at Khuman Lampak sports complex here today.
They blanked DSA Bishnupur by 2-0 goals with Ng. Bijenta (15th minute) and N. Dushanta (78th minute) scoring the goals for them.
In another match, Imphal East District Football Association held DFA Thoubal to a 1-1 draw. Roger Khuman got the opening goal in the 23rd minute for the lead while Sushil Singh fetched the equaliser for Thoubal in the 54th minute.
Inter-college football: Standard College beat Manipur University PG Classes by 12-0 in the 9th A. Borchand Inter College Women’s Football Tournament at BMC Sawombung.
The other match saw Mayai Lambi College beat DM College of Science by 2-0 goals.
Hockey: All Moirang Hockey Association trounced South Eastern Youth Organisation by 20-0 goals in the opening match of the Women’s U-19 State Level Hockey Tournament at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium.
District football: The Imphal West District Football Association is organising the 2nd Division Football League 2013 from September 22 onwards and the manager meeting of the tournament will be held on September 18.
Bagan academy win: Mohun Bagan Football Academy blanked Moran Town Club 2-0 in the inaugural match of the all-India invitation prizemoney football championship organised by Golaghat District Sports Association at its stadium from today.
After a barren first half, the Calcutta side’s striker Sagar Gurung drew first blood in the 67th minute while teammate Dipankar Pradhan further consolidated two minutes later.
The Moran side started aggressively but could not maintain the tempo.
