Kokrajhar, Sept. 8: BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary stressed on the need to implement National Food Security Ordinance properly at a meeting held here yesterday.
The meeting was held by the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) party at the auditorium hall of Bodofa Cultural Complex. Chairmen and members of village council development committees participated in the meeting.
Speaking about the importance of the ordinance for masses, Mohilary, who is also BPF president, urged the office-bearers of the VCDCs and BPF’S primary party leaders to ensure that the benefits reach the poor. BTC executive member for food and civil supplies Lwmsrao Daimary said the council had been trying to meet the needs of the people.
Former Assam minister and MLA Pramila Rani Brahma, Hemendra Nath Brahma, a former MLA, BTC executive members S. Basumatary, D. Basumatary, and M.N. Brahma were also present.
