Calcutta: The final of the Cricket Association of Bengal-organised SK Acharya Memorial Trophy will be played under the floodlights with pink balls in use.
This is for the first time in India that pink balls would be used. The four-day final, to be held at Eden Gardens, will be played from October 1.
“We will be the first association in India to organise a match where pink balls will be used,” a senior CAB official said on Tuesday.
Bengal A, Bengal B, Odisha and Jharkhand are the four participating teams as the tournament begins from September 15.
“We will have to get the balls from abroad since they are not manufactured in India. The teams will be wearing white clothes, but the sight-screens will be black,” the official revealed.
