Ranchi, Sept. 3: Chief minister Hemant Soren today cracked the whip on four senior officials and ordered a cut in the pension of a former engineer on charges of irregularities.
He directed officials to deny two annual increments to Suresh Prasad, presently an executive engineer with Koderma road construction division. An official probe found that he had misused Rs 1.34 crore meant for road repairs in 2010-11 when he was with NHAI, Jamshedpur.
Hemant also gave his nod to prosecution against Ranchiís district fisheries officer Manoj Kumar. He was caught by vigilance bureau sleuths recently while accepting a bribe of Rs 16,000.
Besides, departmental proceedings were approved against former executive engineer of the building construction division-II, Ranchi, Rasbihari Prasad Singh for irregularities in a revamp project in the Vidhan Sabha. Presently, he is with Ranchiís building construction division-I.
Director (science and technology) Arun Kumar is also going to departmental action. Arun did not have the requisite qualifications at the time of his appointment. His salary was blocked after the accountant general objected to the matter.
However, he fraudulently withdrew his salary.
