New Delhi, Sept. 1 (PTI): Sonia Gandhi will travel to the US for her six-monthly medical check-up, a senior party leader said today.
“Her going to the US for a medical check-up is due,” he said but declined to either confirm or deny that she might fly out tomorrow evening.
Sonia, who had surgery in the US for an undisclosed ailment in August 2011, has undergone follow-up check-ups in that country in February and September last year and in February this year.
She was admitted to AIIMS on August 26 after being taken ill in the Lok Sabha, but was discharged after five hours.
Sonia, who had viral fever during the previous weekend, had participated in the Lok Sabha debate on the food bill but left Parliament at 8.15pm after feeling “some degree of uneasiness”.
