Itís time for juniors to shape up for on-field drills.
Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has shortlisted 29 under-19 cricketers for a 13-day preparatory camp to be held in Chaibasa from Saturday.
The association has also called 27 players in the under-25 age group for a similar stint at Ranchi from 10 days. All shortlisted players have already reported to the venue.
The under-19 shortlist has six players from Jamshedpur (Virat Singh, Rahil Reyaz Khan, Arnab Sinha, Kishan Kumar Yadav, Jagdish Pradhan and Sonu Kumar Singh), five from Ranchi (Kaushal Singh, Nazim Siddique, Ishan Kishan, Gaurav Singh and Nitin Kumar Choubey) and four from West Singhbhum (Pranay Kumar, Sheikh Md. Shah Rukh, Anurag Sanjay and Bappi Karmakar).
The list also has three boys from Bokaro (Sumit Kumar, Krishna Patel and Ronit Singh), three from Dhanbad (Istekhar Ahmed Khan, Pratik Ranjan and Zeeshan Ali), two from Garhwa (Paras Singh and Ankit Raj Singh), two from Giridhih (Prem Kumar and Kaushal Kishore), two from Lohardaga (Chandan Singh and Amit Singh), one from Koderma (Avinash Kumar) and one from Dumka (Amit Singh).
ďThe preparatory camp will be held at the Birsa Munda Cricket Stadium. We have decked up the ground and the dressing rooms,Ē said JSCA assistant secretary Ashim Kumar Singh.
The under-25 cricketers who have been included in the shortlist include Raju Kumar, Kumar Amit Singh, Raju Yadav, Rajendra Sharma (Bokaro), Parvez Sheikh (Deoghar), Shashim Rathaur, Ibney Hasan Khan, Deepak Joon, Nilmani Jha, Talat Aziz (Dhanbad), M.S. Kalsi, Ajit Dwivedi, Kamal Gope, Abhishek Khare, Basukinath, Sanjeev Singh, Sarfaraz Ashraf, Navneet Kumar Sharma (Jamtara), Kumar Mridul (Lohardaga) Deepak Kumar Singh (Ramgarh), Prakash Munda, Abhmanyu Yadav, Pappu Kumar Singh, Pawan Yadav, Aman Saurabh (Ranchi), Rohit Raj (Seraikela-Kharsawan) and Chandan Singh (West Singhbhum).
The colts will participate in the Cooch Behar Trophy, while the under-25 boys will compete in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy in the coming season.
