Bhojpuri singer Sunil Chhaila Bihari called off his hunger strike on Thursday evening after the government assured that work on the road between Badla Ghat and Kopadia railway stations would start after monsoon.
Sadar sub-divisional officer Sushil Kumar told The Telegraph: “The government has prepared the detailed project report for constructing the road between the Badla Ghat railway station (Khagaria) and Kopadia railway station (Saharsa) at an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore. Work would start after monsoon.”
Sources said the construction of the 15km parallel road would start within six months.
“The railway and the state government have met our demands,” said Bihari.
