New Delhi, Aug. 24: Arrested Lashkar-e-Toiba bomb-maker Abdul Karim Tunda today spoke to his three wives in Pakistan over the phone from the intensive care unit of AIIMS after being allowed by metropolitan magistrate Ashok Kumar.
Later in the evening, the 70-year-old underwent a surgery to implant a pacemaker. He was shifted to the hospital yesterday after complaining of chest pain.
“The magistrate visited him at 12.30pm in the hospital as his police remand expired today and remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days. Tunda told him that he was missing his family and expressed his desire to talk to his three wives. The magistrate allowed it and asked the investigating officer to do the needful,” Tunda’s counsel M.S. Khan said.
