Bokaro, Aug. 24: A 30-year-old plywood trader was found hanging at his shop in Chas township, Bokaro district, this morning.
Vinit Kumar Patwari was dead by the time his family members rushed to the shop, Patwari Plywood, near Telgaria crossing after getting the news. An employee of the shop, Rajesh Kumar, was the first to spot the body and inform the family.
No suicide note has been found with the police lodging an unnatural death case.
According to the deceased’s elder bother Manoj Kumar Patwari, Vinit left his house near Dharmashala Chowk, about 1km from the shop, around 8.30am. “Vinit used to reach his shop ahead of his employees. Today also, he maintained the same routine and left for work after having breakfast,” Manoj said.
Rajesh, who reached around 9.45am, found the shutter closed. After waiting for a few minutes, he knocked on the shutter.
On getting no response, he peered through a hole to find Vinit hanging from the ceiling. He immediately informed the deceased’s family.
“After getting the call from Rajesh, all of us rushed to the shop. The shutter was closed from inside. We forced it open and found Vinit hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope. We called up Chas police, who arrived and brought down the body,” Manoj said.
Police have sent the body to Chas subdivisional hospital for post-mortem examination.
“I don’t know whether my brother was depressed over some domestic or professional issue and committed suicide,” Manoj added.
Vinit got married two years ago.
Investigating officer P.K Sinha said they were waiting for the post-mortem report to arrive at a conclusion. “As of now, we have filed an unnatural death case.”
