Calcutta, Aug. 22: Over 10 lakh farmers in the state have been given Kisan Credit Cards in the last fiscal and banks target disbursing another 12 lakh, finance minister Amit Mitra said today.
“Financial inclusion has been one of the areas of focus of the Mamata Banerjee government. We are glad we are being able to make considerable progress,” Mitra said today.
In 2012-13, Rs 57,000 was lent for every card. The amount targeted this current financial year is Rs 70,000.
