Calcutta: Fresh from his success of playing for the India under-19 team in Australia and Sri Lanka, Bengal off-spinner Aamir Gani claimed all the three wickets in the Andhra innings on the first day of the Buchi Babu tournament in Chennai on Sunday.
Opting to bat, Andhra XI could muster 207 for three in 52.1 overs when bad light stopped play. The Group A match was earlier reduced to 82 overs a side due to bad weather.
For Andhra, openers KS Bharat (45) and DB Prashanth (79) added 94 runs for the first wicket in 27.1 overs. Bharath Reddy (42) and AG Pradeep (27) were at the crease when stumps were drawn. Gani claimed three for 67.
In a Group B match, Tripura scored 221 and then reduced Tamil Nadu Cricket Association XI to 66 for four.
In Group D, Assam, put in to bat, made 224 in 86.5 overs.
