Calcutta: Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) XI suffered a nine-wicket thrashing at the hands of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) XI in a Group A match of the Buchi Babu tournament in Chennai on Friday. The two-day match was reduced to a limited-overs fixture after rain abandoned the opening day’s play.
Put into bat, CAB XI could manage to score a meagre 171 for eight in 43 overs. KSCA XI reached the target with 31 balls to spare.
Captain Anustup Majumdar was the highest scorer for Bengal. He hit 58 (82 balls, 4x4, 1x6).
