Calcutta: CAB XI’s opening tie against KSCA XI in the Buchi Babu tournament, which begins in Chennai on Thursday, may be hampered by rain.
The players were robbed of match-eve practice due to incessant rain. There’s possibility of rain on Thursday as well. The team, lead by Anustup Majumdar, has gone through intense training over the last three days after arriving in Chennai. So the team management isn’t reading much into not being able to practice on Wednesday.
The venue of the match has been changed from Viveka-nanda College ground to Chepauk and that has brought in some relief for the players. “Quite a few of our players have played here in the past. So they are aware of the conditions,” said a member of the team management.
The team combination will depend more on the weather and the pitch, which was covered throughout the day. Considering the nature of the Chepauk pitch, Bengal are likely to go in with two pacers and as many spinners. The combination, though, might change if conditions are overcast.
