Where will you be seated?
The CM’s dais will be flanked by VIP enclosures on both sides. One is for government officials, MPs and MLAs, while the other is for VIPs from various walks of life. There will be a section for common people adjoining one of the VIP enclosures while the entire stretch on the opposite flank of Red Road will have 12,000 chairs for the general audience, of which 8,000 will be occupied on a first come, first served basis. Parents of students who will take part in the parade and cultural programme will also sit here.

The open plot of land near Dufferin Road and two designated areas near the Judo Club and Engineers Tent on Mayo Road and Outram Road.
What can you expect during the programme?
Officers of Calcutta police, state police, state fire services and other security agencies will stage a march past along Red Road. The parade will start from the Casuarina Avenue-Kidderpore Road crossing and proceed north along Red Road and end at Plassey Gate Road of Fort William. This will be followed by a parade by students from nine city schools. Then, five government departments will present tableaux. The show will end with a performance by the Calcutta police orchestra.
What can you carry?
Umbrellas and water bottles but no binoculars and food packets. Only women can carry handbags.
