Lajong ties up for cyber ticketing

Guwahati, Aug. 12: Shillong Lajong Football Club has tied up with KyaZoonga.com, one of India’s largest entertainment and sports ticketing website, as their official ticketing partner for their I-League matches in the season ahead.

The website has offered an opportunity to all the fans to sign up on the website for the latest alerts, news updates and upcoming contests around Shillong Lajong FC matches. Visitors will be able to log in on www.kyazoonga.com to sign up for latest news and alerts.

This is the first time in the tournament’s history that fans have been given the option to sign up for alerts to stay tuned to all the latest updates on a team and its players. Fans will be intimated through emails from KyaZoonga.com, on news, contests and sale of official and exclusive Shillong Lajong FC tickets.

Over the years, Shillong Lajong FC, the first club from the Northeast to play in the I-League, has grown. It made history in Indian football when it signed Edinho Junior on loan from English side Blackburn Rovers, apart from signing Trinidad and Tobago World Cupper Cornell Glen and Cameroon International Charles Edoa Nga for the season ahead. Entering the joint venture with the website, Lajong general secretary Larsing Ming Sawyan said, “Shillong Lajong FC is delighted to associate with KyaZoonga as the official ticketing partner. The pre-sale service for latest alerts about Shillong Lajong Football Club matches is a unique initiative by KyaZoonga.com to bring fans closer to their favourite players. Together with KyaZoonga, a trusted leader in the online ticketing space, we are committed to providing fans a seamless and easy access.”

Commenting on the tie-up with Shillong Lajong FC, Arpita Majumder, co-founder and chief operations officer of KyaZoonga, who also grew up in Shillong, said, “We are excited to tie up with Shillong Lajong FC as their official ticketing partner. Lajong have been doing a wonderful job in promoting talent in the Northeast and the club holds a special place for me given my Shillong roots. Our pre-sales service is to build momentum and assess the interest and preferences amongst fans.”

KyaZoonga is the only ticketing company in the Indian subcontinent to have ticketed a major international event — the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 — all forms of international cricket (one dayers, Tests, and T20s) and several domestic cricket leagues.
