Guwahati, Aug. 6: Former champions ASEB Sports Club rode a late goal to edge past Dynamo Club 1-0 in the Abhishek Motors R.G. Baruah Super Division football league organised by Guwahati Sports Association at Nehru Stadium here today.
The match, however, was dominated by Dynamo for a good part of the second half.
However, a late burst by ASEB paid off rich dividends.
In the 83rd minute, substitute Prem Kanta Singh struck a firm shot off a corner kick by Sanjay Boro to beat Dynamo custodian Mantu Mallick.
The tide turned in favour of ASEB, albeit late in the day. But Dynamo kept the odd counter-attack on, with stopper Kinggslley Eze moving up to support his strikers.
But that did not help as the seasoned Mitradev Swargiary was up to his task.
In the first half, Dynamo won the battle of possession, also creating opportunities but to falter at the end.
Navajyoti Club will take on Assam Police Blues in tomorrow’s match.
