|The Sunset Anthems pre-party at Nocturne on Friday night was a sneak peek at what to expect on July 7 at Lake Land Country Club. DJ Mazzr and resident DJ Iimrran churned out some of the top tracks of Linkin Park, Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta. If you missed it, gear up for the next pre-party at Basement on July 5 with DJ Ali-Zee. (Anindya Shankar Ray)
What: Sunset Anthems — Summer Dance Music Festival, in association with t2
Where: Lake Land Country Club (a two-minute drive from Santragachhi station)
When: July 7, 3pm onwards
What to expect: Music, dance, fun, food and rain! The second edition of Sunset Anthems is back with a bang, this time much bigger with seven city and four guest DJs all set to churn up killer gigs. “This one will be a fun festival that people will remember for long,” promises Vishal Sinha (V Society), one of the many hands of Enigma Entertainment.
With a 10,000sq ft dance floor, you can be assured of enough elbow room and a covered shamiana will keep you dry if the rain gods join in. On the music front, there’s something from each genre (hip house to techno to electronic) and with a VIP section, you need not worry about anything except your dancing shoes!
The decor will be hi-tech (think LED lights) and neon with 3D mapping at the visuals by Ultra Vision from Goa. “We had a series of pre-parties, the first one with Ma Faiza at Tantra on June 5, the second one with DJ Mazzr at Nocturne on June 28, third with the Analogue Monkeys at Aqua on June 30 and the final one is coming up this Friday at Basement,” added Vishal.
Finally, a 60ft long bar means you won’t have to wait for your drink! Also, expect munchies from Golden Spoon.
Model Sonika Chauhan will host Sunset Anthems. Who does the opening set? That’s a surprise!
(P.S.: Entry by invitation only; invites are available at Shimmers, Basement and with all the seven DJs).
