Cadbury mishti crown

Eighteen sweetshops, 56 outlets, over 150 varieties and more than 2,297,000 blessings — all for the unique wedding between Mishti and Cadbury! The sweetest nuptials of the century was held as part of the Cadbury Mishti Shera Shrishti contest, in association with The Telegraph and Anandabazar Patrika. The grand feast that started on January 16 culminated in a star-studded awards ceremony at The Park on April 29.

The Cadbury Mishti Shera Shrishti campaign brought together a host of celebrities as bride Mishti’s relatives and collected an avalanche of “blessings” in the form of calls and text messages from mishti-lovers till the curtains came down on February 24. And if Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement of his marriage to Priscilla Chan garnered 1,045,272 likes on the social networking site, Mishti and Cadbury won hands down with 2,297,000 “blessings”!

The celebrations had a surprise guest in Mithun Chakraborty, who came down just to wish the sweet couple. That’s not all, bideshi jamai Cadbury’s 24ft-tall topor that was displayed at City Centre Salt Lake entered the Limca Book of Records. And the two-day Mishti Fishti carnival on April 6 and 7 saw the city descend on the Kund area of City Centre Salt Lake to feast on the innovative delicacies.
