Toubungkhok hold Malom

Imphal, April 22: Toubungkhok TBSFA managed a stale draw against Malom TRVSA in the 15th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2013 at Mapal Kangjeibung. This is the second straight drawn game for Toubungkhok and it has culled just two points from it.

Malom TRVSA had more opportunities but had to be content with one point.

Football programme: The Imphal West District Football Association inaugurated its 15-day under-12 and under-14 boys and girls’ Football Development Programme at Laikol Sports Complex, Khonghampat. Ninety-six players, including 16 girls, participated in the programme.

Six coaches — L. Puthiba Singh, Tominthang, Somorjit Singh, Sanjeev Singh, L. Deva and M. Devan Singh — are engaged in it. Y. Muhindro Meitei, head of Khonghampat gram panchayat, inaugurated the programme.

Hockey: The veteran hockey match between Yaiskul Athletic Club and Cosmopolitan was put off due to technical problems at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Edinho status: Shillong Lajong Football Club’s European recruit Edinho Junior has been named by the Portuguese Football Federation to represent Portugal in the under-19 International Tournament Porto from April 21 to 27.

The 18-year-old joined Shillong Lajong on loan from Blackburn Rovers in March.
