Spring breakers: the movie

What is it about? Childhood friends and now college students Faith (Selena Gomez), Brit (Ashley Benson), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens) and Cotty (Rachel Korine) decide to go on a spring break. Since they don’t have enough money, they rob a fast food restaurant (remember the final chapter in Pulp Fiction?) with squirt guns and all that grease-covered money falls on their laps. Beach parties and reckless behaviour follow. Enter Alien (James Franco), a rapper and gangster.

Viewers? Comparisons range from the 1997 sleeper-hit Gummo (also directed by Harmony Korine) to Where The Boys Are (1960).

OST? Enjoy the Skrillex magic on Smell This Money, Ride Home and Scary Monsters On Strings.

Trivia? Rapper Gucci Mane, who also stars in this marinated-in-beer film, actually slept while a woman parked herself on top of him.
