March 22: A power failure triggered by sudden rain forced the organisers of JECLAT, the annual festival of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College organised in association with t2, to re-schedule treasure hunt competition for tomorrow.
The treasure hunt was supposed to be held today, but the late restoration of power supply made it impossible for the organisers to hold it as was originally planned.
“There was disruption in power supply because of bad weather. We were forced to reschedule treasure hunt for tomorrow. Finals of some competitions like solo dancing were held today,” said Bishal Jha, a college student and a member of the organising committee.
The festival that began on March 16 will conclude tomorrow. Yesterday evening, around 25 students of the college participated in J-Factor, in which the contestants could display any skill. “It was a unique competition where the participants needed to exhibit their special skills. They could sing, dance, play music, perform mimicry and anything else,” said one of the organisers.
