Governor sworn in

Kohima, March 21: Ashwani Kumar was sworn in as the governor of Nagaland today at the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here.

The Chief Justice of Guwahati High Court, Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, administered the oath of office to the new governor.

Thereafter, the governor was accorded Rashtriya Salute by the Nagaland police at the saluting base of Raj Bhavan.

Earlier, chief secretary Alemtemshi Jamir read out the warrant of appointment.

The swearing-in was attended by the governorís family members and well-wishers, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues, parliamentary secretaries, bureaucrats, students, and representatives of NGOs.
