Power franchisee

Power consumers in Patna and Gaya would have to wait a bit before power distribution franchisees are selected.

Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Ltd on Thursday cancelled the tender for selection of franchisee for the cities. “The company would soon float tenders for appointment of distribution franchisee,” the firm’s director (finance), Vinayak Chandra Gupta, said.

A senior official said there were no big names in the bids submitted for Patna. Sources said Spanco Ltd, which was the highest bidder for Gaya, was rejected as its performance was not satisfactory in Bihar and Nagpur.
